Family migrated to the USA with their Uncle Martin following death of parents and settled near Prairie de Sac. Sereved in Union army during Civil War and had the upper joint of his right thumb shot off in battle. Used mustering out money to purchase farm in Honey Creek. Farm now owned by grandson, George Accola (1950?). Reportedly a very hard worker with a deep concern for his family. He made it possible for each of his sons to have a farm near the homestead if they wished.
