Some records indicated DOD as 17 Mar 1913. Probate records at Milwaukee County Court House under file 32288 and 32221.
The 1907 Milwaukee City Directory listed him as farmer, living on Janesville Road, SW 14. Rt 4, Sta A, Milwaukee.
According to a handwritten note written by Clara Rick (Rieck), Ernst left his home on 30 Jan 1913 and never returned. His body was found in a patch of woods off "...the Plank road..." on 17 Mar 1913. His death was attributed to stomach trouble and exposure.
Since he and his wife lived on Janesville Rd., the Plank road referred to in the note could have been the Janesville plank road.
